has taken in many potential slayers to protect and train. Now the Scoobies have told BUFFY to leave them.

Follow me! FAITH and ANGEL enter FAITH Where is the Slayer of this land? Where is the Watcher who runs this show? ANGEL Only one girl – and that’s Buffy slays for the people here below. JENNY, (who did not die in season two) and is currently possessed by Eyghon, comes up to him. JENNY Please young sir, come this way There’s a demon that ain’t eaten today Give your life. To me. God rewards all your good, you will see. Wait a bit. Know that face. Ain’t the world a remarkable place? Rupert Giles, you’re on my list You summoned my evil for your little tryst. GILES What is this? Are you mad? No, Jenny, you don’t know what you do! JENNY Not Jenny! You know me. Eyghon’s back, you see. XANDER Someone’s here! Disappear! Ethan Rayne! From the rear! ETHAN enters and the crowd scatters, because these sort of things happen all the time without explanation.
STARS ETHAN There, out in the darkness The Ripper is running Helping the Slayer Keeping watch in this place. Keeping watch o’er my quest Keeping watch o’er my quest ETHAN exits. The crowd gradually returns, except for GILES DAWN Ethan Rayne, he thinks he’s something, But it’s we who run this town! And our living room never closes. And the curtain’s always down. DAWN exits. Spotlight on Xander and Angel.
XANDER’S ERRAND XANDER Good God! Oh, what uproar ANGEL Buffy, where could she be? XANDER Just what do you need her for? I’m right here, you see. ANGEL Xander, find her for me! XANDER (Suggestively) What will you give me? ANGEL Anything XANDER Got you all excited now I don’t know what you need with her. Aren’t you all delighted now? I just want your love, my sir. ANGEL Xander! Do this for me… Discover where she’s gone Be careful as you go Don’t let the demons know Xander, we’re lost until she’s found! XANDER I told Willow so There’s lots of things I know Xander, he knows his way around. Summers Living Room: Kennedy, Anya, Andrew, Faith, Spike, Willow
GRAY AND BLACK FAITH Kennedy! KENNEDY At the end of town, the potentials are prepared SPIKE At The Magic Box, they’re straining at the leash ANYA Slayerettes and other fools Blood will drain into pools Like the flowing of cash Sunnydale will be made hash. FAITH The time is near, So near it’s stirring the blood in their veins! And yet beware Don’t let The First get to your brains! For the army we fight is a dangerous foe With the Turok-han we can never match It is easy to sit here and swat them with words. But The First will be harder to dispatch. We need a sign To rally potentials To call them to arms To bring them in line! Angel enters Angel, you’re late. WILLOW What’s wrong today? You look as if you’ve seen a ghost. ANDREW Some snacks, and say what’s going on! ANGEL A ghost you say, she’s been dead twice A third time would not be so nice One minute there, then she was gone. FAITH It is time for us all to decide who we are. Do we fight for the right to a night at the Bronze now? Have you asked of yourselves, “What’s the price you pay?” (Anya checks her wallet.) It’s rhetorical, Anya, put your wallet away. The color of the world is changing: day by day! Anya, Willow, our time is running short. Andrew, put the Twinkies down Do we have the stakes we need? ANDREW Give me Slim Jim on my breath And I’ll breathe them all to death! DAWN (enters excitedly) Listen! Listen to me! Listen, everybody! My mom is dead! (random) DO YOU HEAR THE SLAYERS SING
FAITH Joyce is dead. Joyce. Her death happened a year ago. The Slayer’s mom. Her death is the sign for a go. A year and a half later we will honor her name It’s a rallying cry that will reach Buffy’s ear. In the death of Joyce Summers, we will kindle her flame – She will help us fight the danger that’s near. The time is here. Let us welcome it bravely with courage and cheer.
